A Horse Named Ghost

A Story About a Horse Named Ghost

Hello, my name is Ghost. I’m the newest member of the ranch, and though I might be a little shy, I’ve found a place among my friends here. I was the last to join the group, so it took me a little time to find my way. But with a bit of patience, and thanks to my friends—especially Poke—I’ve come to feel right at home.

I may be a little quiet, and I tend to keep to myself sometimes, but I’m a curious soul. I love to watch what’s going on around me, taking in every little sound and smell. When we go out on the trail, I like to follow along and observe, letting the others lead the way. There’s so much to learn, and I’m still in training, but I enjoy every minute of it.

One of my favorite things is spending time with Poke. We have a special bond; he’s always patient with me and seems to understand when I feel a bit uncertain. Poke’s playful and curious, just like me, and he always finds a way to make me feel safe and welcome. Sometimes, he’ll nudge me along on the trail or share a snack with me back at the ranch. It’s nice to have a friend like him.

I’m still getting to know everyone, but each of my friends here has helped me in some way. Don has this calmness about him that I admire, and Diamond—well, she’s the queen, and I look up to her! Even little Pat has taught me that it’s okay to be sweet and gentle. I may be the newcomer, but I’ve been lucky to find such good friends.

As I settle in, I’m learning that there’s so much to enjoy about life on the ranch. The gentle breeze, the open fields, and the friendly faces all make me feel at peace. And though I may not be the most outspoken, I feel like I’m part of something special here. I follow along, learn a little more each day, and take comfort in knowing I’m surrounded by friends who understand me.

So if you see me around, don’t be surprised if I’m watching quietly from the back of the group. I’m just taking it all in, step by step. One day, maybe I’ll lead the way, but for now, I’m happy to be a curious follower, finding my place among my friends.
